The open loop Ethercat fieldbus stepper drives for stepper motors are AC mains powered and, thanks to the vectorial control, they can avoid noise problems (which has always been a negative stepper motors feature) and they make the stepper motor’s movement smooth, allowing the stepper motors to be very similar to brushless motors while maintaining low speeds.
