Control of flexographic printing regulators

Our experience in motion control, and particularly in the control of the movement of printing machines, has led us to develop increasingly specific and specialised solutions, as demonstrated by the specifically designed solutions for the control of the regulators of flexographic printing machines. Thanks to our smart solution, for each printing unit it is possible to make the movement of the anilox and plate-holder cylinders, as well as of the transversal and longitudinal regulators, automatic, using six drives and relative motors controlled by a GWC unit; the latter, acting also as a gateway, is able to interface with the other components of the machine via fieldbus (Profibus, Devicenet, Canbus or Modbus), thus relieving the workload of the central PLC and making the solution flexible for various specifications. Moreover, the use of absolute encoders allows for all adjustments to be automatically calibrated each time the machine is started, reducing the need for the intervention of highly specialised operators.
